The Dark Knight’s Memos:  “The Other Side” EP by MANDRAH

MANDRAH’s EP “The Other Side” consisted of 5 tracks: The Wedding, Black Light, The Other Side, Trailer from Hell, Know my Name.

Let’s go through the EP! Actually this EP is impressive unique release musically and thematically. The riffs of the release consist a one enjoyable unite as they wander between darkened slow tempo and fast one!

The Gothic style is the dominant whether in vocals style or the tunes of the guitars! And I would like to stress on the great influence of Amy Winehouse.

“The Wedding” and actually it is the best track in the album. It is opened with gothic-darkened vocals with low key sounds! The riffs of the track give me the impression of talking about myth or something fictional!

“Black Light” is a faster tempo track, with stronger and groovy vocal style! The music is somehow closer to Early Heavy/Thrash Metal wave.

“The Other Side” carries wonderful darkened Keys with vocals performance as the one we used to listen from Gothic singers! I like how the guitar sounds merged with flute/synthesis tunes.

“Trailer from Hell” is more dynamic track and actually its choirs/orchestral like sounds reflect the sadness, fear of red hell.

“Know My Name” its Drum style really blasting and classic! Its riffs are headbanging, enjoyable and active! Which is more impressive is the solo!

To sum up, this release is so impressive and enjoyable! It combines a new experimental version of classic and familiar Rock/Metal style. Merging Jazz, Orchestra, and pop tunes with the music enrich the sounds!
