Remember Final Metal Blast Event, Day All Metalheads See Dimlight, Nightmare, Medic, Segadoras Shine

On this day, 3 years ago, the Egyptian metalheads sadly bid farewell to one of the most astonishing Metal acts in the middle east, Metal Blast Festival.

The festival introduced one of its finest concerts ever by the presence of our Greek good friends, and Egyptian-history influenced, Dimlight, French heavy metal legends Nightmare, Egyptian progressive metal pioneers, Medic, and the popular death metal band Segadoras who got their slot by winning in open voting for selecting the concert's opener.

If you, reader, forgot what the hell happened on that night, allow me to remind you of the greatest things that took place.

We had a rocking meet-to-greet session. It was warmer than our previous meeting. Actually, I avoided mistakes I made through my previous coverage which is not contacting the bands before the concert!

The great brothers of Medic, they were shining, happy after fulfilling their biggest dream, releasing “Ascension”. I felt the interaction and friendship between Medic, and Dimlight members, it was so easy to feel the energetic nice mood between them.

Segadoras’ vocalist Bahaa El Kresly heading to the stage with a Repear’s tool, it was cool then shortly I found myself involved in harsh/echoing deathly tunes with a long scream among welcoming and supporting from the audience in the frontlines. In addition, the band delivered an amusing performance for “The Undefeated I.”

Moreover, this night witnessed the first-ever performance for Medic's first full-length album, "Ascension."

Medic was one of the coolest guys around, their energy, and enthusiasm were reflected backstage and performance.

Some of the unforgettable scenes of Medic's performances were Medic’s members Ahmed Khalil, Ehab Khaled Fawzy, and Hossam El Tawdy warmed up their performance through energetic jumps, powerful headbang in the heart of those eye-candy colorful lights reflect the mood of the journey.

Through “Road to Oblivion” some fans started to sing with Ehab and Khalil who moved his guitar vitals up and down with greetings from the audience.

The moment we reached “And the Sun Rises" I felt so proud of those guys, they made a great job, a great release performance: The combination of beautiful guitar sounds, fresh gears shifts, killing melodies.

It is almost a whole play performed before your eyes, images of rising, images of light, images of sun, images of vividness. It is the concept of RE-BIRTHING!

Finally, this vivid stage, theatrical mood enriched with the comforting, harmonious sound of Saxophone backed with magical Keys tuned! The sound of tears and joy, the sighs of relief in this part carried a million unspoken words.

After the show I down the stairs fast to see the guys after the show, NOBODY can imagine the mood of warmth, friendship, the pride we (as Medic friends) had. I was so proud of them, seeing those drops of sweat, and exhaustion after long years of hardworking, shouting high MEDIC!!!!! You did it MEDIC.

Moving to Nightmare, what’s really amazed me is the performance of Nightmare guitarists and Bassist Yves :):):) their dynamic headbanging, humble guitar greetings, and it looked like the classic heavy Metal performances we watched on YouTube! A YouTube experience was moved in detail to the stage! I was high, surprised, and speechless!

I am so grateful for Nightmare’s members, it was the first time for me to stand a few steps away from the stage, before the frontline!

I have enjoyed the most enjoyment limits, maybe above them! Medic members, Metal Blast crew stood happily, energetic watching Nightmare, I am so grateful for Maggy who talked to me warmly before the performance to be stronger and move positively :) and I am grateful for Medic’s Karim Wassim who shared with me headbanging XD and getting crazy before Nightmare :D alongside the great Metal Blast Team Guys Yara, Mahmoud Ezzat, and Wevil.

Next was Dimlight's show, a freaking, hyper, and energetic show! Our Greek brothers and sister More stepped into Egypt with a beautiful and lovely gift, I don't mean only the earliest live show for the band's highly anticipated release, "Kingdom of Horror," but I mean also More.

Through our conversations, I touched on the massive energy Mora has. She is so active, talented, and has a good physical power give her the features to be a real Greek stage goddess! And! Nobody can deny that Mora was absolutely awesome!!!

With her strong vocals, her active movements on the stage, her way of attracting the fans to be more active, she had an expressive strong voice that can attract the audience. In addition, her powerful performance in headbanging with Nikolas and Peter.

We somehow used to Dimlight interaction! Peter stands up high then headbang, speaking to the audience directly, asking them to headbang, shouting high! Peter is not only a great vocalist but he is a great story narrator too! As stories from the past or myth influenced stories, so Peter does that perfectly on the stage, he can lead a live show, he can direct a whole theatrical show!

Although this night was fucking 4 years ago, we all, as Egyptian Metalheads, believe that Metal Blast Festival will come back once again!

Thank you everyone who showed up, and made a great memory for me, and for the whole scene!

The Metal Divas: Female Metal Voices Around the World VII

As we are celebrating our comeback I think that it will be great to check a new part from our The Metal Divas series. This part is full of power with slight changes in our format to be easier to follow!     Adrastea (Greece ) A great voice shining from the lands of Hera and Zeus, Adrastea is rocking the Greek Metal Scene with her band Entropy Devine.  We  started with Adrastea by asking her about how she started her career.  "   I have been singing since I can remember myself. I was always a rocker so I remember I would always find a way to secretly sneak into music related activities.  I was not allowed to learn music, cause, you know  I am a woman and I should do all that society expects from a woman and nothing more.)  So I figured creative ways of doing so as a part of my Rock 'N Roll rebellion while  growing up,"  she answered. Next, we asked her about how she met her band mates.   " From an ad in search
