Shattered Sigh, an impressive Gothic/Doom Metal from Spain , released their second full-length this year, under the theme of “Through Dark Veils.”
The album consists of seven original tracks, they are painted in the gloomiest colors of pain, agony, and sorrow.
There is a strange journey of tunes, voices, and rhythms through the seven-track release. The music reflects the deepest influences of several Doom Metal and Gothic-styled figures. The mixture between spoken clean and growling mirrors in your mind the delicious bittersweet pain of Saturnus music, or the melancholic whispers of Swallow the Sun.
The employment of keys and piano sound throughout the album is like the backbone that connects all tracks. It takes your soul into the marvelous melancholy of the sounds.
One of the phenomenal features of the album is the vocals' work! The breathtaking combination between deep cries, horrific screams, growling, sneaking whispers, and sorrowful spoken parts can motivate your inside feelings to take this trip to your everlasting scorching, mourning emotions.
It is my first experience with the band, and it is my first metal release review in maybe two years. I didn’t intend to listen to the album, but I was searching for more Doom Metal to hear in case to release the painful, hurting screams inside my head and this album crossed my eyes by chance! but, I’m really grateful. I didn’t feel that the music is strange, I felt that it is the true and familiar style of melancholy and sorrow we always run into during our dark times.
