From The Melancholy Of "A Depiction Of Melancholic Reality " to The Perfection Of Forlorn

Frostagrath is an Egyptian One Man Depressive Black Metal project, the band was formed by " Lord Mist " in 2012,   and Frostagrath's first release was a single track " Shattered February " which launched via Youtube then, Frostagrath released their first release " A Depiction Of Melancholic Reality " Demo , the demo has drawn the attention of a lot of Depressive Black Metal fans to listen to this new band with new ideas and great mixtures of music . Frostagrath Discography contains :3 Singles, 2 Demos, 3 splits and 3 Full-Length Albums in addition 2 tracks from Xathrites band second full length " My Last Day Story " by " Lord Mist " vocals. I chose one track from some Frostagrath's releases to distinguish the average of improvement of Frostagrath Music

"A Depiction Of Melancholic Reality " was the first Demo for Frostagrath, it contained 2 tracks " Reflection Of Bleeding Soul " and " A Depiction Of Melancholic Reality ". "Reflection Of Bleeding Soul " was as an Instrumental Intro for the main track of the demo " A Depiction Of Melancholic Reality" . " A Depiction Of Melancholic Reality " started with some melancholic nature elements as thunders, heavy rain then some guitar tunes with great screams. " Screams " the vocals reflected the atmosphere of the whole demo " Reflection of Bleeding Soul " it referred to " Human Soul", trapped, weak , sinner so it screamed to reveal the ugly facts of the world where we imprison .

The riffs didn't change a lot, the riffs became faster at " 3:36 " but the vocals became the same , at " 4 : 52 " we have a rest with keys, I loved this part a lot, try to imagine with me you are sitting in a dark place with a weak light of candle and blaming yourself , then we back to the riff as " 3 :36 " but with a little bit differences , at " 7 : 27 " the first riff of the track with its slowness back . The Quality of the Demo was not very Good and was not high. " A Depiction Of Melancholic Reality " Demo represented one unit and they were highly connected to each other. It reflected the essence of " Frostagrath " music more than " Shattered February ". Painful Lyrics, Riffs full of Self- Hatred, Depression, Regret, Melancholy, High Screams, devilish vocals, Excellent Keys and Some Atmospheric touches. The track repeated one message we are trapped, no one can save us, it's everlasting darkness, we are devils

A Journey Of Infinite Sorrow

In Cor Silva  " - A Part From " In Cor Silva " Lyrics

In cor silva was the fourth track from Frostagrath second release and first full length album entitled " A Journey Of Infinite Sorrow", The concept of the albums was the tale of man who entered a forest, he still lost in the forest till his death . The style of the band still the same as the previous demo but more atmospheric touches, there is a story we can follow , using Latin and Italian lyrics , using acoustic guitar magical tunes , improving in the vocalizing and performance , and a little bit better quality . I Chose from this album track number 4 to talk about. " In Cor Silva "  in Latin means " In The Heart Of The Forest " so our hero is in the middle of the forest and we are in the middle of the album. The track started with acoustic guitar tunes influenced from the Old Italian Folk Music, then Frostagrath still follows the same style screams with all the instruments, not a lot of movements  in 
the riffs but in " In Cor Silva " in the middle we have a part of the lyrics written in Italian

"Dust Shall Remain "  was the first split for Frostagrath band, it was with " Viragha " band - Atmospheric Black / Doom Metal band from Sri Lanka" . Frostagrath had 2 tracks in the split and i will talk about one of Frostagrath's masterpieces " And Finally, The Death Caverns Will Carry Out My Soul" . We could touch a great improvement and change in the band's style. The band became more into DSBM, more atmospheric touches and effects, a better quality so we could listen to all lines more clearly and the track had a  great addition is spoken part. " Lord Mist " started to mix between his vocals and spoken parts to add more depressed atmosphere

Extinguishing The Flame Of Life

"Extinguishing The Flame Of Life" was the second full-length, As for me this is the best release of Frostagrath. I chose "Extinguishing The Flame Of Life" the 5th track of the album to explain the progress in Frostagrath's stuff. emotional keys with gloomy whispers, the door of pain is opened, screams following with painful guitars melody, The whole atmosphere created a prison where you will dwell forever, memories and tears following till you meet a great interlude of acoustic guitar then you asked yourself where is the hope ? the hope fades and you entered the maze again when the sounds of acoustic guitars united with the rest of instruments with the high vocals reflected the agony of the soul. A New thing was added to his music through the second full-length album " Extinguishing The Flame Of Life ", how to employ every riff and every instrument at the right place to create the atmosphere he seeks 

Isolation

Isolation Demo was the following station of Frostagrath's career after the second full length " Extinguishing The Flame Of Life" and split called " Scars Of Isolation with Xoresth from Turkey. I choose the first track of the demo " Scattered Fate " to talk about, 

Atmospheric touches lines in the sound of rain, more brutal vocals, music as inner war, at 2:49 whispering portraying your case and great harmony with the guitars and the vocals. New step in Frostagrath's career, harsher music, faster riffs, strongest vocals and few atmospheric touches

Death Waltz

Haunting me forever more " - A Part from Lamentation Of The Fallen

"Death Waltz " was the last Frostagrath release before the band's third full- length. The release was a split with 2 other bands About Abortions and Farewell Winter from Italy, I will talk about "Lamentation Of The Fallen " 

a completely different experience among Frostagrath's stuff. Track more into funeral doom in riffs and vocals with high influence with November's Doom and Doom V.S

A Defective Incarnation

" A Defective Incarnation " was the last release the band released till now, It contains 6 tracks and it was the shortest full -length album among Frostagrath's stuff. I liked Forlorn so much because as for me it's the climax in Frostagrath's career tell now, the track gathered all the magical tools of Frostagrath withing it, Emotional keys , catchy riffs , Killing 2 solos, the effective of the spoken and lyrics touch the soul A Defective Incarnation is more angry and hard.We can also realize that Lord Mist is adding something different and new to his work and every release we can note some increasing in his musical talents of composing. Excellent vocals, remarkable solos, attractive and effective riffs and melodies, clear bass guitar lines, high accuracy, very good sound quality which make your enjoy with every single instrument's riff and you will feel that the album is one unit, not separated tracks
