The Story

Last Month, I received a humble invitation from Ammar Eid to listen to his band's album "As Everything Fades" first album "Suicide Theater". Actually, I am so interested in listening to new DSBM/DBM albums, as it is my favorite Metal sub-genre. Yesterday, while scrolling down the Facebook newsfeed, I found a catchy album cover, actually it attracted my soul, yes I can't deny, I am currently suffering from a wave of suicidal thoughts, disappointment, ignorance, having no faith in life, running out of chances in this life! Actually, it is not something to be ashamed of! So, I decided to restore my love towards this depressive music, and have more courage to experience this album.

The Review

Actually, I am stressing again, it is one of the greatest DBM albums I've heard! The album contains 11 tracks, 10 original ones, and 1 cover.

Of course, Reader, you may see that the title is somehow strange "Dramatization of the Dancing Suicidal Demons"! If you look at the album title, you will find that it is entitled "Suicide Theater".

Theater as a place, and the Theater as a technique! Each track narrates, or describes a certain occasion of suicide as a committing suicide through hanging, crashing against train, cutting veins, etc. So, you will touch that the mood of the album is connected, but it is not a one story of stages, NO! It is a series of stories connected with one thing is losing hope in life, and walking into death!

The music is great, actually it is alive example of influencing by Happy Days, Silencer, and Lifelover. The riffs are really mournful, and aching, you can smell death, catch vivid images of pain, blood, fear, disappointment, frustration, agony. You can trace those colors of sorrow, and hatred, of black, and gray.

The most wonderful thing of the album is the usage of keys, the keys is like a backbone of the album, as for me, the keys sounds generally in DBM songs are playing a vital role in delivering this certain mood of depression, and blackness.

Also, the usage of atmospheric/ambient sounds enrich the mood of the song for example, in "The Hanging Forest" track you can trace the sounds of birds, and forest animals, also, "The Train Ensemble" starts with actual sounds of passing trains!

I can't really describe my feelings towards the music, I am somehow speechless! while listening, I imagined a girl who holds a gun, and pulled the trigger, or holding a handful of pills!

A girl, who is in her twenties, good-looking, but carries a hundreds of scars on her wrist, on her arms, bleeding, her blood drop on the floor of a locked bathroom, conjuring all the dancing demons in her head, listening to conflicted voices in her head, wandering between dark, and night!Suffering from losing the most one she loved, or maybe, having fear to lose him, so she lives in shades of panic to lose him!

She is in status that she'd rather death to feel pain! Imagine that I extracted all those feelings in aching, painful guitar tunes, narrative sounds of keys, descriptive ambient/atmospheric touches!

Scattered narrated stories of along-gone dear persons, maybe, in near future, the writer could be a one of them.

Ladies, and Gentlemen, we are in a front of a whole play of acts! acts of sounds, tunes, melodies, and lyrics! We are not trapped in a certain location! no, we are in the first in a closed room, with screaming sound of gun, or a calm bed of a sleeping girl who surrenders to death after swallowing a dozens of pills, or in a distressed forest, or a locked bathroom with a floor colored in blood!

So, I advice you to feel the persons who may pass through this, just be gentle to each other! care for each other, maybe a girl or a boy who committed suicide needed a moment of care, of a gentle word, of a company, of a gift, of a letter, of a word of love!

The world, where we live now is turning to be more barbaric, more bloody, more horrific, so all we need to have is peace, and love, to re-think in our status!

To Each person, who reads this now, you are worthy, you deserve to smell a colorful flower, to hold a handful of grapes, to touch the sea, and to feel the rain!

Depression is bad, depression is a ghost! but think to create a door, a window, to see the world from a different point of view!

Sadness is ok, but don't make your sadness to take your life!

The Metal Divas: Female Metal Voices Around the World VII

As we are celebrating our comeback I think that it will be great to check a new part from our The Metal Divas series. This part is full of power with slight changes in our format to be easier to follow!     Adrastea (Greece ) A great voice shining from the lands of Hera and Zeus, Adrastea is rocking the Greek Metal Scene with her band Entropy Devine.  We  started with Adrastea by asking her about how she started her career.  "   I have been singing since I can remember myself. I was always a rocker so I remember I would always find a way to secretly sneak into music related activities.  I was not allowed to learn music, cause, you know  I am a woman and I should do all that society expects from a woman and nothing more.)  So I figured creative ways of doing so as a part of my Rock 'N Roll rebellion while  growing up,"  she answered. Next, we asked her about how she met her band mates.   " From an ad in search
