EXCLUSIVE: Matalobos Guitarist E. Santamaria Talks about the Band’s Upcoming Performance

This Sutarday outstanding Mexican Melodic Death Doom Metal Matalobos will take part in Concreto Metal Fest (Mexico). I contacted Matalobos Guitarist E. Santamaria for giving us more details about their upcoming performance which is taking place in Halloween Season.

Remember! Tomorrow, our brothers and sisters in Dubai are having their scary night with the Swedish Doomsters October Tide. 

And! This Saturday Egypt will have its October Round of Metal Blast Festival.

While our brothers and sisters in Russia are spending this darkened night with the Russian Gothic Doom Metal Icons Inner Missing this Saturday.



Let’s go To Matalobos event in Mexico!

1-  First off, thank you for giving me this chance so How did the Fest contacted you? 

Well, this fest it´s the first one organized by our mexican record label "Concreto Records". The owner reach us, asking us if we want to play in this show, so obviously we agreed, I think it´s a great oportunity to
gain more fans and encounter the old ones.

2- What are your setlist for this concert? 

As you know, we have 2 Eps and 1 Lp, we are going to try to play a couple of songs of each recording, trying to make a balanced setlist for the audience, definitly we are gonna play Of ghost and yearning and derelict, 
I think moments just before playing we are going to pick the other songs, haha!

3- As the event takes place this Saturday, could this event be considered as a Halloween event as it takes place in Halloween season?

Not really, but I would love to, Halloween it´s my favourite season, it would be really cool to see some guys disguised in the audience, haha!

4- How is your relation with the rest of the participated bands?

We have shared stage many times with two of the bands involved in the fest, Terror CĂ³smico and Majestic Downfall. They are really cool guys and we love their music, and there´s two bands that I never have seen live, but I have great expectations of their shows.

5- Finally, Do you have any guest members?

Not for this show, just the regular lads of the band haha.

Before 2023 Edition, Get to Know Wacken Metal Battle Egypt History

On March 3, Cairo will see a new edition of Wacken Metal Battle Egypt. The upcoming edition is the fourth in the history of the Egyptian Metal scene. Although the local scene witnessed three editions, only two Egyptian Metal bands stepped into the global stage of the most prestigious Metal battles. As we are celebrating our comeback I think that it will be great to check a new part from our The Metal Divas series.
