(Opinion) What is Pharaohs Breeze - The Vice Versa Event Idea?


Currently, the Egyptian Metal Scene is stuck at the phase of the least Metal activity through the passing 4 years! 2019 witnessed Only 4 Metal events and one of them were 2 tribute shows in addition to Egypt’s Wacken Metal Battle. 

And, the Scene didn’t face any new releases till now! Fortunately, Mythos is preparing for releasing their second full length, while fans are still starving for Scarab’s long-waited album and calling the slogan of “The Storm is Approaching”!



So, I am standing here to explain and document my idea of “Pharaohs Breeze: The Vice Versa”! 

1- What’s “Pharaohs Breeze: The Vice Versa”?

Pharaohs Breeze is Egyptian Twin Metal concerts to be hosted at 2 venues in the biggest 2 Metal centers in Egypt: Cairo and Alexandria!

 The first draft of my idea scripted that both concerts should be held on the same time! 

But, after some thinking, I think, it would be better to be held in different time for having the biggest possible number of audience. 



2- Why are the concerts organized in 2 cities?

As the Alexandrian bands and Metalheads are suffering more than those who in Cairo, they should be appreciated!

Mostly of the Alexandrian bands have not enough chances to perform in Cairo and for the Metalheads in Cairo. This is the first point! 

The second is that every Metal concert in Cairo, the Alexandrian Metal lovers facing the hardships of distance, traveling dangers, and financial burden to catch their favorite local band performance! 



So, the Alexandrians should have the chance to see their favorite Cairo Metal bands playing beside the glory of the Mediterranean! 

Beside the Alexandrian Metal bands need to promote their live presence in Cairo more and given a full chance to introduce themselves for the audience in Cairo! 



So, a Metal concert in Alexandria with a full Cairo Metal bands lineup and the VICE VERSA! A concert in Cairo with a full Alexandrian Metal lineup!

But, the bands who performed at the first volume ARE NOT ALLOWED to perform at the following one to give chances to all Egyptian Metal bands!



3- What’s the lineup? (oh, here comes the fight!!!)

The biggest issue in every Metal Concert is the lineup! As the Egyptian Metalheads were never 100% satisfied with any announced lineup before! 

For example, in the latest Egypt’s Wacken Metal Battle, Egyptian Metalheads rejected the existence of Egyptian Hard Rock/Heavy Metal/Progressive Rock Band Wujood in the lineup without listening to one riff for the band! 



Beside, Last October, the Egyptian Metal Scene witnessed the most controversial voting in the history for choosing a band for the opening act at the final Metal Blast Festival!    

And, as I am not an ORGANIZER! So, the interested organizers who would like to turn this idea into a real initiative (with reseviny my rights for the idea) are 100% free to choose the bands they like (according  to the announced rules). 



Below, you can find some suggestions! Again, SUGGESTIONS!

Alexandria: Medic - Segadoras - Crescent

Alexandria: Medic - Wujood

Cairo: Mythos - Hate Field - Odious

Alex: Segadoras - Meddox Theory - Scarab 



Lineup 4:

Cairo: Hate Field - Riverwood 

Alex: Wujood - Veritatem Solam 



Lineup 5: 

Cairo: Ethereal Credence - Odious 

Alex: Veritatem Solam - Sinprophecy 



Lineup 6: 

Cairo: Riverwood - Nathyr 

Alex: Devour - Mephistopheles



Lineup 7:

Cairo: Mythos - Bovem 

Alex: Segadoras - Veritatem Solam 



Lineup 8:

Cairo: Mythos - Odious 

Alex: Ahl Sina - Crescent 



Lineup 9:

Cairo: Bovem - Nathyr 

Alex: Segadoras - Al Azif  



Lineup 10:

Cairo: Riverwood - Mythos - Bovem - Hate Field - Odious 

Alex: Medic - Hecate - Al Azif -Sinprophecy- Scarab 



4- Can we add more events?

Of course. Yes! Workshops, open jams, open talks could be all included! 

We can also host 2 famous musicians for having open talk with fans!



5- Venues??????

Few weeks ago, I discussed the idea with Leaf Colors Co-Founder Sadik Faried who suggested hosting Acoustic Performance for an Alexandrian Metal Band  at Culture and Arts Center Bedayat at Heliopolis! 

Beside, lately some Metal shows were hosted at CJC and the Tap West! Yeah, I am somehow against those venu but it is up to the organizers!



What about Alexandria?! Recently, Jesuit Center at Alexandria hosted two Metal shows! Beside, a small Metal event could be hosted at a Studio as an open jam with a band from Cairo! 

Again, it is up to the organizer who is interested in the idea!

Before 2023 Edition, Get to Know Wacken Metal Battle Egypt History

On March 3, Cairo will see a new edition of Wacken Metal Battle Egypt. The upcoming edition is the fourth in the history of the Egyptian Metal scene. Although the local scene witnessed three editions, only two Egyptian Metal bands stepped into the global stage of the most prestigious Metal battles. The Metal Divas: Female Metal Voices Around the World VII

As we are celebrating our comeback I think that it will be great to check a new part from our The Metal Divas series.
